Believe it or not, they are just sanded to 2000 wet and polished out with a dremel and mothers metal polish :)
I guessed it to be a bit of a rubbing compound so I figured it couldn't hurt. Worked...

Sorry I should have elaborated ..... I cut them out of some scrap acrylic from window stock ... the wedge is burgundy linen micarta ... pins are brass ... washers are all small stainless.
