I've almost done that. But mine wouldn't take an edge. Not sure if a temper or steel quality issue. Even just to have a record of its manufacture and ownership would suffice for me.

For me, a series of NOS pre-1820 razors of different makers, times and countries. I have a pretty good idea of what they looked like originally, but really want to see exactly what they looked like...
