Needless to say, glad I wasn't around back then.

They were made for cutting very thin samples for microscopy. You can still shave with them, they're just a little different to hone.

Nice score on the Engels. The Sellers sure looks like a microtome from the head on shot. Is the left side of the blade totally flat compared to the slight hollow of the right?
