You are spot on about the warp, it is right where the scale inlay is. I have decided to live with it for now and see how it shaves first. When I try to fix the word I'll keep your advice...

Thank you. You can't see it but the show side scale has a warp that needs fixing, blade has some surface rust and needs a cleaning and then there is honing. I think it has potential though.
