    OK, first apologies for the spastic spelling in the tile. I think I have found out what type of leather it is, shell cordovan. At least it seems to match what I am looking at and described.

    Maeshall Welss Zenith strop

    Just got a nice small 2 inch X 14.5 inch strop Marshall Wells Zenith. The reason I bought it was that the leather stropping surface was thin and extremely smooth, almost felt like it was synthetic....
