One of the scales has an end missing, replacements are being searched for. As for honing, the Kings and DT are getting soaked, and the electrical tape is being readied. :)

Well, the razor was delivered today, and I'm impressed with it already. It's a fairly hefty chunk of steel, a good 6/8 blade. Have some before and after photos...

Am I right in thinking...

It was the etching that attracted me, it's not the seemingly normal Butlers Shakespeare etching. And hopefully that stays on if I attack the blade with the WD40 and wet/dry.

It's not the first straight I've had that's needed chips honing out and a de-rusting, and I doubt it'll be the last. :)

There's a tip of the scales missing, and the blade looks slightly chipped, but I can't wait for Thursday now. :)
