First fitting with the cocobolo scales and ebony wedge. Doing a ren wax finish over the next few days. Still a bit of meat to take off the wedge but it is close.

Think I am happy with the look. Didn't want to taper the tang too much. It has a nice even slope coming up to the original grind on the upper half of the tang.

Agreed. I was considering the same. I think aesthetically it would be more attractive as well. Once I finish shaping the tang and polish it all out I will see about putting a more pronounced smile on...

Well the basic shape is done. Might take a bit more off the tang to give it a bit more of an even pitch.

I agree completely. No way to get her running again with the large crack over the chip however. At least this way she will shave again.

Grabbed this beater of a blade of the bay. It is in rough shape but with a touch of luck should work out ok. Has a gnarly chip and a bit of a crack just in from the shoulder. Going to see what I can...
