Thanks for the heads up on materials I will take a look. And yes it does have a nice smile and it doesn't appear like the rust affected much the edge is clear.

Well I am venturing into restoring an old razor I picked up for cheap on E-bay. Scales were said to be wood but appear to be some badly damaged horn. Backside piece broke off after I had it depinned....
