If it is in fact a Frederick Reynolds I would expect it to predate his well known mark with the sideways FR beside his corporate mark. It does have an older style tail but not a stub tail.

I have several Fredrick Reynolds and none have a stamp like that. I am most curious though. Perhaps someone with research skills and resources will be along.
