    Before looking through the loupe I use paper...

    Before looking through the loupe I use paper towels and then palm strop a couple strokes to make sure all water is off and edge is clean.

    I hone on the kitchen bench and just use paper...

    I hone on the kitchen bench and just use paper towels or tissues which are both within arm reach. If it gets a bit wet or dirty I just replace.
