It's just not recommended for beginners, mainly...
It's just not recommended for beginners, mainly because it's used when it isn't needed. The reason being, bread knifing is used in restorations, not honing, and should only really be used to remove...

Strange, my taidea is a lot harder than my...
Strange, my taidea is a lot harder than my naniwa....at any rate the naniwas are best for the slight price bump, no point in "upgrading" later, you'd just be needlessly paying for hones twice.

I have a Taidea 3K...it's okay, but for a bit...
I have a Taidea 3K...it's okay, but for a bit more I would get the Naniwa combo stone instead. Better consistency and feedback in the Naniwas, and it's only peanuts more.
