I've never done it before but I'm going to try a natural pickle with local vegetables.

Up near the Iowa border. We have had a fairly dry summer, some ove the bigger rains went around us. We have had some decent rains in August that are greening up the vegetation.

I harvested two of these peppers last night. I think they are cayenne peppers. I hope to have enough to make hot pepper sauce and/or add some to pickled vegetables I might make this fall.

I'm in a similar place as Ernie 1980. Our yard is really shady and the spot where we placed the garden nust doesn't get enough sun. June was a really dry month here and a tree fell on the garden too....

We put up a two foot chicken wire fence around our container garden. The rabbits have been feasting.

They are paper egg containers. We pull them apart and plant in the ground. The paper is supposed to disintegrate.
We did buy some pots made of peat for planting directly into the ground.

Sporting is coming along well. We have peas and spinach in the ground.
