and since it goes backwards with the smaller is bigger with gauge it shure doesn't help

I am pretty sure the shim I use for thrust washers was 10 thou
the rest I have seem to thin almost foil like

I use brass shim sheet & have flatterned some narrow SS washers also for thrust washers
if you minimse your pin mushrooming the ss washers will give a step to the brass pin
