I used to have that problem as well, many soaps did that, coupled with a nice aftershave would result in dry, flaking, red skin.

Then I found Esbjerg Aftershave Oil, unbelievable stuff, goes on...

Agreed - those two are #1 and #1 for me, light load of brush, dash of water, and the scuttle is bursting with aromatic lather - I've had soaps that foamed easily, or tended to without the right water...
