The shave off of this stone was really exceptionally smooth. It doesn't have that really live top end sharp some finishers do but it was more than adequate.

Is there even something from the LI quarries that is slate or shale vs the steely novaculite material?

Looks similar. When I bought it, I figured it would be a weird variant of a LI or cf but one corner of this hone immediately told me I was wrong about it being novaculite
