That's the first I'd heard of this method. I thought a simple wipe down should do that.

I do the same on an oversized wet sponge or wet it off in the sink water. As in Glenn gssixguns(?) says, its called wet shaving for a reason. He doesn't care if it gets all wet or not, only dry it...
