Well as an update to this saga, shaved with this beauty today. I'm not experienced enough to say it was the razor but i had my smoothest/bloodless shave so far with a straight. After 5-6 day growth...

My thoughts exactly! Cars, bikes and razors, no point restoring and looking after them if they just sit in a shed unused!

Any tips on preserving the gold etching other than, don't use it?

Pretty much why i forgave my tablet instead of sending it through the window! Although i had planned on waiting a bit longer before getting a higher end expensive razor. Call it fate!:D
