Emery/wet & dry from most any local hardware or automotive store.
I lapped with DMT 1200 and finished mine with 2000 wet & dry under water. Nice smooth glass like finish. -

Both mine were slathered up like yours. I let mine sit for cure first. Then I used the heat to get rid of the residue and clean up.

Thanking you that worked like a champ. Car in Florida sun I figure a least 150F. So slowly heated hones in oven to about 150F and then let bake for 30 minutes. Came out perfectly clean.
