Walnut stain on a test piece of wood used to make the scales. Kinda like the natural color but this isn't bad either...

Ignore the homemade bandaid Haha....Kevlar gloves got scales dirty so took em off while seeing if gap was bout right....and bam... no biggie though...bone saved me

Id say you rarely see it on wood because its hard to get the scales flat beside the spacer, its been tough but almost finished, just hit it with 2k grit and had a bite to eat, results coming soon

Its definitely going to take some fine tuning, figured what the hey though since the stock I started with was 1/4" thick and I was gonna have to sand anyways, used the hacksaw and notched a few lines...

Well...my first full restore...Finished working the scales into their form...will hit with finer grits tomorrow as well as post the razor. Will update as I go. First scales I have ever made.....all...
