It is an ultra fine finisher, very hard stone, and works very fast.

Hit up the Woodcraft shop and bought a diamond lapping plate and a king 6k today, along with some nice exotic woods, probably pick up a norton 4k/8k combo next week as well, then I should be set on...

It improves over my 12k and its shaves wonderfully off the stone without stropping. Thuringian? Don't know the answer to that but its my finest finisher by far, and seems like a pretty fast stone...

Smaller points seem like a darker blue-green, rest is a greenish yellow looking stone

Nah its never seen oil, water absorbtion was too good and didn't bead up which happens on any oilstone I've seen.

Yes it was held in the base by something like plaster

Thuri or not that improved on my best shaver I have at home with only water no slurry.

Lapped off some patina so you can see better as well. Still a bit left but hope it helps

Can see the natural color changes starting ending in bottom right corner of pics starting in middle of top...

Feedback? Never owned a thuringian before. From pics I've seen it sure seems like one

Thats what I am banking on, figured for 42 bucks it was worth the gamble, and looked thuringian. Bout to buy a couple thuringians of different colors in the next week so should be set on finishers...
