From what I understand, the carbon content is right on the steel, just that it isn't being properly hardened and annealed.

Could be he got a newer or even older stock one that is of better quality than the ones that has tarnished their reputation.

What I might do is get one, as an experiment, and try a few tricks I've learned from gunsmiths to harden the steel a little so it'll take and hold an edge better.

They look good. I'm thinking part of the problem is the steel is too soft. If so, a little hardening and tempering should fix it, provided it doesn't warp the blade.

That I do understand! I was under the impression that G&F was getting better in terms of quality.

That's kinda what I was thinking but wanted to make sure. They appear to be at a very good price. Guess just not a good value.

Anybody know anything on the new G&F razors? Are they any good?
