Thanks! Initially the bade was too deep for the stock I used, would have had a really shallow blade angle. I corrected for this and will have it honed soon.

Update: I unpinned the blade and headed back to the grinder to fix the geometry issue.... I took 1/8" off the blade width at the cutting edge so the overall width is now 7/8". Since the hollow...

If you go for a grinder, you might consider buying a KMG. I know you can build clones easily enough, but they are built well and if you have a way to make money with it, it will pay for itself...

I know I am a bit off of ideal its sounds. I feel like I have seen a discussion of angle and shave quality somewhere and there seemed to be quite a range of angles if I remember correctly.
