    Default My First Straight

Here is my first go at making a razor. This blade is 8/8 and would probably be best described as 1/4 hollow as I ground it with a 10" contact wheel. I used 3/16" flat-ground O-1 steel as my starting point. The cutting edge is 3" long. I don't remember what this wood is called, any help here? I am excited to see how it shaves after I get it honed. Thanks to everyone here, I use everyone's work as examples and inspiration.

Bob, not sure on the shave yet. I am going to send it out to Doc226 for honing then I'll post an update.
