    When I was looking down the scales, they looked a little beefy IMO. But ive learned that its easier to remove material than to add, so I figured Id get opinions from people who know more than I do!

    I completely understand. If the tang is hypothetically 3/16", the spacer would be <3/16". Somewhere around 3/32" Im guessing. The spacer wouldn't bow the wood, but just set it a fixed distance apart....

    Good to meet you again! When you say spacer, are you referring to a spacer (the size of the tang) where the wedge would go? Or a washer spacer on either side of the tang?
