So after asking a few guys through pm about the differences between the new super stone and the pro's and which one was reccomended.

I wanted that over the 1k but my better judgement stopped that.

I do have a king 4 (I believe 6) k and 8k I was planning on selling. Maybe hold onto them and work them into a progression?

They do look good and are priced modestly. I have not read any reviews though.

That sums it up well :) . I could also get the naniwa Fuji 8k for a very good price off of eBay. I've heard good things about this hone.

I already know I'm getting the 3k pro... so then 3/8k combo is out TC.

Any additions to it now other then 8k?

Add the 5k and do baby steps?

Thanks guys for all the advice. I want to make it easier on myself. Problem is I haven't been able to stick with synthetics for any long period of time. I am not going to give up on them this time....

It is my birthday on Thursday and I am going to be getting a naniwa pro 1k, 3k and DMT 325.

This will kick things up a notch for me at the bottom end and make a really consistent edge to work...
