Those look like horn scales to me.

I picked up one of these yesterday at a flea market for$15.00. Needs cleaned up a bit but a very heavy blade for a 5/8" razor.

I believe that the scales are horn. Cool razor!

I have one just like this that I am trading for a low RPM. buffer motor. I have several Torrey razors & I want to develop a good relation with this guy as he is a picker & scrounger like me

I have one with the "orange Dreamsickle" look scales. No lettering on the blade though.
