Made new ones, still far from I had in mind of but somewhat closer. I tried to inlay the shields as well the best i could and it could have been better. A monogram will have to wait until I perfect...

After fitting the scales (on one side the drill drifted and the washer got off the line). I couldn't use the smaller washers (too small, 4 mm, to drill efficiently 1/16 hole so used the 6 mm ones...

I've decided to not proceed with the carving - that will be another project.

Pretty much finished inlaying the wire (far from high end but rather some sort trench art) for one scale just to realize I omitted the space for washers. As I have no intention to start over again...

That's true, the shields are pinned onto the scales and not fitted into, but I'll get there eventually. I have some old carved scales I intend to use for this purpose

Finished work earlier, didn't get stuck in the traffic for too long (usually, one hour is the norm), so I had an hour or so to spare - outlined the contour, I'm still not sure about the notches just...

I intend to inlay the wire. I want to give a try for 0.7 mm wire and see how it turns out. I might have to consider 1 mm diameter wire. Upon results, I'll extend the technique on mother of pearl
