Do you see "pores" on the stone? Not just inside the pencil mark...the "pores" all over the shapton.....

Do you have the same kind of surface in your stone?

I'm back....

this is a picture of my Shapton 15k, the pen is for size reference.....

the pencil mark is to see the surface of the stone more clear, but I think the pic is clear enough to...

I guessed that...but I'm not too sure if my definition of pores is correct....

I will try to take a pic of mine......

I will try to lap again my shapton tonight, and will round the corners a little more, just to be sure that's not the problem...


one question, without the use of the microscope I can see small...

I guess it has good quality because I didn't have any problem lapping the 8k...

I lapped it first with the norton lapping stone, then with 600, 1000 and 2000 sand wet/dry

Under the microscope I only see small part of metal and some black points.....maybe parts of the sand...

Maybe I need to round a little bit more the edges....I already did it, but I think I can do it more....



Im using the same pressure that I use on the Norton, mine is turning dark very quick...
