Yeah, something like bog oak dust would probably be better for filling voids on black horn anyway. Even something that absorbs the dye will stand out some as it cures. Amazing how well bog oak seems...

I have a red "BLACKJACK" razor I would definitely want to be translucent red scales on like the original. Kirinite Pearl on Ducks.

I already pulled the scales off, just need to clean the blade up. Hopefully that pitting isn't deep on that thin blade.

Yeah, Solingen celluloid is the worst. They didn't want scales being eaten by bugs so they made scales that eat blades. :gaah:



Yeah, I wondered if your DD would be in the original scales long....

Unfortunately I can't rescale yet, but I thought I should remove some scales that appear to be gassing off. Duck is looking suspicious, but I hate to tear it a apart too. :banghead:

Did a LOT of hand polishing yesterday with Mother's Mag. Gonna try and do some honing today.

I think some people used grease guns on the pivot of their razors.

Just honing tonight. Using my Norton 1k to set the bevel on a few blades.
