Keep mine that way, too. Though its inside and always dry, I have accidentally misted it with water during a honing session, once. :gaah: and boy they form rust quick.

I packaged all the ones I made in a medium flat rate box.
I encased each anvil in closed cell foam, totally filling the box.

I don't see the need, and I'll be surprised how far you get with a HF saw blade. Mine was cut on a industrial sized saw. One hour per cut, roughly.

Your gonna enjoy that a anvil, their rock solid, and create a certain ring when the pins tighten up.
Besides Sharptons, I did seven or eight others. Took a average of 4 hrs. to sand n polish each...
