    Yep your exactly right, the scales are super thick not much choice on the rigidity of the material... definitely waaaay thicker than I make any of my scales these days... definitely good advice!

    9/8 San Mai Hybrid/ 7/8 Damascus Buckeye

    these are the other two blades in the batch i had made, they came out pretty amazing!

    with the san mai blade the billet is actually stainless steel with the high carbon, when i etched the blade...
