2 coats done on the seasoning gents. Forgot to take a pic in between but they are back in the oven and starting to look very nice. Lard melting in a CI pan is a beautiful thing.

Oh man.. that does sound awesome.

I was able to minimize the redness by using cold water and drying them quickly on a burner. Definitely going to start seasoning them tonight or tomorrow. Dare i ask what oil folks use? It seems like...

Luckily I didn't get smoked out too bad. I was waiting to see what happened. Just made the apartment smell funny, and now my oven is clean.
