I made the scales as close to the originals as possible. The third pin is a stabilizer and shapes the scales into arches. It does not make contact with the tang.

The wedge is made from guitar pick-guard material. I have a ton of it, it's really easy to work with. If you want to try it, I'll send you or anyone who wants some free.

This is my first three pin rescale. The blade wasn't too bad but the scales were "time warped" :D.
I replaced the originals with horn. The pivot pin was fitted with bushings, the original had none....
