    Thanks for the info , guys . It's not from rust , I got the razor on ebay from altima55 , and it is clean as a hounds tooth . I suppose I'd rather have a little discoloration on the scales than rust...

    Mineral oil and bone scales ?

    I have a Joseph Elliot with bone scales . I put a drop of mineral oil on the tang at the pivot pin and it has discolored my scales . Are they ruined or will they return to thier normal color ?
