It's hard to get that exotic hardwood to flex much. Sounds like it's plenty thin, and it sure looks good, the shape and color pattern. At some point you've done all you can, old blades are funky...

I'm a fan of the modern wedges like that Spike there, Tom. I just got one in good shape with the green-n-gold a month or so ago. Yours is looking good, got the gold shining!
