You got me thinking about the one Duck I have so I checked it and it's still good. A scary thought as mine is in a drawer with 11 other razors. I will be watching to see how those scales turn out....

This is how I do it. Once i had to start over because i was too far off to one side to get things to line up.

I made some wood boxes a couple of years back. I just used a router. Easier than the hammer and chisel. Mine were made to hold the stone but remove the stone to use it so no press fit. I used magnets...

I found it helped a lot. It was my fault as i asked for the knot to be set deeper. Less loft. But I didnt know better. Last night it gave a much better lather. Not as tight so the lather flowed...

It was a bit chilly today (my Sunday) but I managed to work on a brush in the garage.
I bought this Shavemac 5 or 6 years ago and had the knot set a little deeper to give it some more backbone....

They look so much better when you keep the lines crisp. I have a few from my beginning days that are rounded off badly. We learn by doing.

plumbers putty. Nice idea, Mike. That should even get you some taper around the edges. I will be watching to see how that comes out before sanding.

Maas and elbow grease. I had some time on my hands so I opted for not breaking out the buffer.

I gave these two Timeless Razors (OC78 and a SB38) a polishing today. Solid Bronze razors. It's hard to get the shine to show in the pic but I'm much happier with them untarnished.
