I have one of those dapping blocks. Thanks Roy. Ive used it often. Its a nice tool to have. Ive made my own collars with it....

They did make scales with wedges like that. As you said, mainly on plastic but they did it with horn too. It looks to me as if the collar at the pivot end is different than the one at the wedge end....
