Have you done any that have been infused with acrylic resins?

My main concern is that being that scales are so thin,and do flex somewhat if the acrylic would stay bonded to the wood and not separate.

The other was what do use to bring them to a protected...

Has anybody used these new generation material for scales?
Do they hold up ok?
