If this is the case, can I use another whetstone to smooth the 30K out or it's too hard of a stone for it to take effect?

How about if I use Atoma 400 to lap the Shapton Glass 30k (when need) and use the Shapton Kuro 12K to smooth it out?

Can a Atoma 1200 use as a lapping plate for the 30K stone? I read some where that Atoma 1200 is not good for lapping, what other plate can I use for lapping the 30K beside the Shapton's brand...
