Do you mean that the loft is not as high? (From the knot to the top of the bristles?) Because Simpsons uses a fan shape short loft for their brushes, whereas Shavemac uses a bulb shape high loft...

I have a Simpson Polo #8 in Best and also had the instruction/warning in my box but alongside mine came an additional instruction sheet from Em's Place saying to use circular or to and fro movements....
