Perhaps some of the Canned Air for computers would have enough force yet not Toooooo much

In that event with Horn I would try the idea of Alcohol perhaps even a tiny bit of Acetone, to clean away the Wax and the Oil.. At that point in time you really have nothing to lose, as the worst...

The way I understood it Roy was this was a Practice run, so I am giving advice for the next set :shrug:

Perhaps I misunderstood

You want to do any "Glue Repairs" before Oil and Wax they will stand a way better chance of holding

Sand (lower grits)
Repair
Sand (higher Grits)
Oil
Wax

Yes very much so,, even working with Celluloid & Bakelite you stand a chance of doing more harm then good :(


I like using steam rather then boiling water with Natural scales a bit better, but...

A couple of Hints:


Home Depot

get a set of steel drift (punch) pins to carefully tap out the pins, honestly it is WAY safer
