The other way around :)

If you lap a 1000 grit Hone with a 1200 grit plate you can tear the diamonds out of the plate

same as you don't lap anything less than 800 or so on the 325 plate

The DGLP is actually a 325 grit
So the 1200 as long as you have already knocked off the high diamonds will be fine
