You have to smooth them up from 2 directions
The sides of the bevel get smooth, and you eliminate the deeper Striations
Hopefully at the same time you are eliminating... -

, Sharp doesn't always mean Smooth :) Just look at the concept in the Macro rather then the Micro and it makes more sense..
