    I have been doing the same thing. I hone with my Norton, then I strop with the red paste and then strop with leather. I feel like it is not...

    I was wondering that myself. I bought a dovo loom strop in Germany and one side had the red paste on it. This information is from Classicshaving.com, I hope it helps.
