That could be warthog ivory. It's good for small bit work and I've done some with warthog ivory but not much since its not suitable for full length scales.

They are pre- an elephant ivory and possibly mammoth I key by the look of the scales. Walrus ivory is very hard to get and warthog ivory isn't straight enough. I've tried warthog ivory and it would...
