    The first blade is shaving very well right now, it is only finished to 50 grit, and has some definite room for improvement, but it shaves great.
    Planning on shipping it out to a member or two to see...

    I used a 4X36 belt sander to grind through the razor... It is a wood sander, but it obviously can eat away at metal...

    yes, generally harder steel will hold it's edge...

    yes, generally harder steel will hold it's edge longer, but if it kills your hone and takes 7 days to hone, it needs another temper cycle...
    I did the edge temper on mine so as I use it and hone it...
