If the smaller hone came out of that box, then it's a Thuringian, which is a good form of honing slate. The other one looks similar and likely also is a Thuringian.

From the photo, the surface appears to be homogenous. Coticules and BBWs are heterogenous because of the garnets. Here is a photo ChrisL posted several years ago.
