That's what I am thinking. DMT themselves desc. the diamond they use as mono crystalline in shape. They say these snaggly looking bits cut better than the multifaceted diamonds out there.

I have both, and at first I hated the D8EE. It cut so coarse I had to back hone on finish passes to get anything resembling an edge ready to finish on a higher grit.
