Personally I don't like those double notched out tangs. Just the aesthetics of it. Someone else would find it attractive I know. That's why god made apples & oranges I suppose.

Someone wanted it more than you did. :) When I get out bid at the end I always think of the money I saved. Win or lose there is always going to be a next one .... as long as we're on the green side...
