Well if it is just at the very corner you knock those down when you chamfer the edges anyway. Chamfering the edges is a good thing IMO. Not everyone does but it may save the blade from a micro chip...

Sure you can smooth it out. If it isn't in the path that the razor would travel when honing it isn't an issue.
